Amid all the joy and peace of the Christmas season, the chaos and frenzy of Black Friday seems ludicrous. Curt shoppers, crowded aisles, long check-out lines . . . they just don’t seem to fit into the spirit of Christmas.
If you are one who loves the thrill of Black Friday shopping–like Jessica does–enjoy it! If you dislike crowds and long shopping lines, like Joanna, or hate the idea of hitting the stores in the wee hours of the morning, like Jennifer, consider some of these ways to simplify your Christmas shopping.
– Online Shopping
I’ve found that online shopping is an excellent alternative for busy moms. Shopping online saves time, saves my sanity, and helps me keep a joyful, peace-filled heart.
Some of my favorite shopping sites:
– Gifts from the Kitchen
Investing a little time in the kitchen is a wonderful way to give a heart-felt gift without hitting the stores. With some effort and creativity, you can make a variety of yummy treats that would be perfect for gifting.
Here are a few gifts I have given from my kitchen:
- A variety of Christmas cookies
- Fudge (it’s actually much easier than it appears!)
- Gifts in a Jar
– Handmade Gifts
Handmade gifts are so much fun to make and give, especially when you can tailor them to match the recipient’s decor or personal taste! One of my favorite gifts to give to family and friends is a plate of homemade fudge, topped with a handmade Christmas ornament.
