Meal time for our large family is no small feat. Planning a meal that everyone will like, finding time to cook, getting all eight kids to the table on time–it can be challenging, for sure.
This week we ditched our boring menu plan and made a fun, kid-friendly meal: sloppy joes. I grew up on Manwich sloppy joes (always topped with homemade cole slaw), but I hadn’t served them to my own family for a long time.
One of the kids was surprised by how quick and easy it was to make sloppy joes. “You mean you just dump it in the pan?” Yep, it’s really that simple. In fact, my older kids could easily make these themselves.
Surprisingly, everyone liked the sloppy joes! That’s a win in my book. The older kids loved the Manwich Bold sauce, while the younger ones preferred the Original flavor.
Me? I loved the Thick & Chunky version. Topped with cole slaw, of course.
Manwich’s kid-stopping power makes it a great family-friendly option for hectic Monday evening meals. And as an added bonus, the whole family will be busy holding these “manwiches” with both hands, keeping them focused on meal time instead of electronics.
Because Manwich’s sweet, tangy sauce does not contain any meat, it is versatile enough for many other recipes in addition to the traditional sloppy joes. Why not give some of these Manwich Mondays Recipes a try?
