iHomeschool Network is compensating me to share this free, no strings attached offer with you.
Our family follows a traditional 36-week school year, taking the summer months off for church camps and other fun activities.
Even though we’re not officially homeschooling during the summer, I want my kids to keep their skills sharp. For us, this means that I want them to read, read, read.
We don’t have a structured reading program with assigned books, or even a certain amount of required reading time. Rather, we have one simple rule: After bedtime, nothing is allowed except reading.
No videos. No iPod games. Just books. Any books.
And to keep things exciting, they are allowed to read as late as they like. Believe me, kids love the whole stay-up-late thing!
In addition to reading, there are some excellent FREE educational products available that can help kids keep learning this summer. Math, reading, science, play and learn programs – there’s something for every family!
