The Homeschool Mother's Journal

In my life this week…

After a very productive week last weekI’ve been a little disappointed with how little I’ve accomplished this week. I’m trying hard to finish out strong, though. Hopefully by the end of tomorrow I’ll have made a huge dent in my top household project: cleaning and organizing the laundry room.

In our homeschool this week…

Homeschool did NOT go as smoothly this week as I would have hoped. Actually, the learning part went very well, but I’ve been completely overwhelmed with discipline issues. These things seem to come in cycles, so I’m counting on the fact that “this too shall pass.”

In the meantime, we’ve established a rule that anyone who causes undue difficulty during school time will be dismissed for the day . . . and will complete their assignments on Saturday. Need I say more? 😉

Helpful homeschooling tips or advice to share…

I’m offering a FREE set of printable timeline notebook pages for subscribers of Contented at Home. I’d love for you to take a look!

My favorite thing this week was…

Kendra learned to say “four” after we count “one, two, three”! She’s so tiny, and I can hardly believe that she figured it out all by herself! We think she learned it from repeated readings of The Poky Little Puppy, where the puppies get to the top of the hill and count themselves. Of course, we’re absolutely convinced that she is a genius! :-)

Things I’m working on…

A blog makeover! By Monday or Tuesday, the blog will have a brand new look. And I couldn’t be more excited!

Aaawww…such cute pics. Kendra is changing her looks…can’t decide to who or what, but guess just herself, huh?

Must be what it is….I was showing all the small pics at the Clinic @ Walmart Supercenter in DuBois to the female Dr. and she loved them. I was telling her about the billboard pic at Woodland and said she knew exactly where that was,she will be checking it out. Lisa was her name.
