Meet My Kids {Part 2}

Yesterday I introduced you to my five older children, and today I’d like you to meet the three little ones. We are so blessed to still have little ones in our home–I wouldn’t want it any other way!

Weston, 6 years old, is doing a combination of kindergarten and first grade work this year. He is thrilled to be sounding out words and learning to read!

As the oldest of the younger set of kids, Weston is always looking for ways to catch up to his older brothers. He likes to do anything (everything!) that Collin does. I have to tell you that Collin does not always enjoy this. πŸ˜‰

Weston also enjoys trying to build things. In fact, he has requested tools and a toolbox for Christmas!

It’s hard to believe that Kendra is already three years old. She is loving preschool and doesn’t want to miss a day EVER! She is learning to recognize her ABCs and to act out math stories with her counting bears.

Kendra is a little mommy and loves to play with her babies. I sometimes find all of our schoolroom chairs occupied by baby dolls, each wearing a bib for “lunch.”

Kiera will celebrate her first birthday on December 19. I’m just a teeny bit sad that she has grown up so fast. She is trying to crawl, but in the meantime she scoots around wherever she wants to go.

Kiera has recently outgrown her need to be held constantly, so she is usually under the table during school time now, instead of on my lap. She is just like our own living doll and is much loved–and probably more than little spoiled–by everyone.

I hope you’ve enjoyed meeting my family as much as I have enjoyed sharing them with you!

I would be delighted to “meet” your family in the comment section below.

  1. I loved meeting your family! I like learning about all the things they are doing and putting faces and names together. I know I love being with my 3 teenagers, and all your children sound like a great bunch to be around too! =) =)

    • Hey, Marty! :-) I consider you to be one of my examples when it comes to mothering and homeschooling teens. And you get to be a grandma soon, right? Congratulations!!

      • Yes, I am a Grandma now!! Lol, sorry I forgot to reply. I am cleaning out my inbox (finally) and found your comment! πŸ˜‰

  2. I so enjoy your post and now seeing your family. We are blessed with three boys in our family. Preston is 18 and is the oldest of the crew. He started his Freshman year at Moody Bible Inst in Chicago this past August and BOY, OH BOY do we miss him. The 2nd guy is Owen he is 11. He is a great BIG brother to our youngest, but misses his older brother and room-mate very much. Ethan is our youngest and is 6 years old already. Homeschooling this crew of boys has been such a JOY. Blessing to your family. Thanks for sharing your heart with us everyday on Facebook.

    • Thanks for sharing about your family, Tracy! I am NOT looking forward to my children leaving home AT ALL. I know they will, and I hope to accept it with grace, but I’m not in any hurry for it to happen. πŸ˜‰

      I think it’s neat that you have a larger range of ages–most families can’t relate to my family having kids ranging in age from 19 to (almost) 1. And we have an Ethan in heaven (he was our first loss at 18 weeks gestation).

      Thank you for all your support and encouragement. It means so much!

  3. Marilyn Collins says:

    Thank you for sharing your family. What lovely children.
