2012-2013 Homeschool Curriculum

This year we are entering our eighth year of homeschooling. (Hard to believe, but true!) I’m looking forward to a great year of learning, from ABCs with a preschooler to chemistry with a high school junior!

If you’d like to see what we’re using, you can check out our plans by grade level:

I really enjoy the mental challenge that comes with homeschooling a student in the upper grades. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I’ve never taught these courses before. Whatever the reason, I have had a lot of fun researching and choosing the specific courses that Brandon will be using for his junior year.

When a student reaches the upper grades and begins counting credits toward graduation, many more factors influence curriculum choices. Based on Devin’s interests and abilities, we’ve finalized our decisions for our next homeschool year.

Homeschool planning is one of my favorite summer activities! I enjoy researching curriculum choices on various homeschool sites and discussing options with other homeschool moms.

I can hardly believe that Keaton will be entering sixth grade this year! Seeing how fast our children are growing up makes me so grateful for the opportunity to homeschool and spend more time together as a family.

Reading–Keaton will be reading plenty of  ”real” books, many of which will be related to his study of ancient history. If you have any suggestions of titles we should be sure to include, please leave me a comment–I’d love to hear your recommendations!
