The Homeschool Mother's Journal

In my life this week…

What a busy week we’ve had! I feel like we’ve been on the road all week long. Not the usual kind of week, for sure!

Places we’re going and people we’re seeing…

First off, Devin had several extra Civil Air Patrol activities this week. On Monday, he marched in a parade with his squadron. Wednesday he attended his weekly CAP meeting, and Thursday he was able to take a three-hour flight and get in a little flying practice.

Parade

On Wednesday we also visited Chick-fil-A in support of their courageous stand for a Biblical definition of marriage. While I am aware that many people participated solely to defend the right to free speech, it was still an awesome experience to see such a huge number of people joining together to take a stand!

Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day

My favorite thing this week was…

… seeing my little girl’s hair in two “pigtails” for the first time. :-)

Pigtails

A photo, video, link, or quote to share…

“No home schooling family is an island unto itself. Whether you want to be or not, you and your children are public relations representatives for the home schooling movement. … Your good example can do more to promote the good reputation of home schooling than any other factor.” - Clay and Sally Clarkson, Educating the Whole Hearted Child

Glad to click on some exciting and good news….and those “black” eyes that pierce right thru ya! What a sweetie!

  4. There’s nothing like those first pigtails! So cute. I wish we had a chick-fil-a by us so we could have done the same, that’s great! I like your quote, seeing that in words is great.

  5. Thanks for sharing your week! :) What a cute little girl you have there.

  6. Your daughter is a cutie. I didn’t get to go to Chick-Fil-a, but my husband went to represent our family’s support. He says they were packed! I’m glad so many people saw the need to support them.

  7. I wish we had a Chick-fil-a around here. I used to live in a state that had many, but there are none in my current area. It’s so nice to know that there are still people who will stand firmly for what they believe in and aren’t afraid to make their allegiance public.

  8. So adorable!
